Fullmetal Alchemist: Lost Chapters: Final Collection 1-8
Fullmetal Alchemist: Lost Chapters The Rise of Thanatos
“Hey Al, look at that!" Ed said pointing out the window. Desert sands swirled around outside the safety of the train. Ed yawned and leaned back in the booth. His Metal arm hit the rail with a loud clang. He sighed. His brother leaned to look out the window and as he did he creaked. He needed to be oiled again. A small rust patch was forming on Al's right shoulder, which needed to be fixed also. His brother was trapped in a metal suit, well his soul was. The reason for the suit and arm? They both had used Forbidden Alchemy.
It was a few years ago....Their mother had died due to illness and they both decided to bring her back. Then they didn't know it was forbidden to bring humans back to life with Alchemy. They do now. "To create, something of equal value must be lost." they failed...Al was taken and Ed lost his left leg. Ed seeing Al was gone, gave his right arm for his soul and planted it into a suit of armor. "Ed, what is it?" Al exclaimed. "That's Argen, the so called "Best" Alchemist School on the west coast." he enjoyed Al's curiosity. "Is that why we came out here?" Al asked sitting back down. "Yes..." Ed answered. Ed had heard some information from the Elder from the last town they were in. The Head Master knew something about the Stone.
Chapter 1
“Well, well, well what do we have here? Alphonse Elric and Edward Elric, The Fullmetal Alchemist." a voice came from in front of their booth. "No...You can't be here...." Ed said as he slowly turned his head to see if it was..."Mustang...What the Hell are you doing following me!?!"
“I'm not following you." He laughed as he sat down next to Al; he knew Ed would try to kill him. "I'm here for a meeting." Ed laughed. "A meeting with my fist...” he muttered to himself.” So you two are heading to Argen?" Mustang asked. "WHO TOLD YOU THAT!!!?” Ed said leaning on the table grabbing Mustang by his collar. "No one told me Ed, I was just guessing! That place is really the only place that has to do with Alchemy and you know what you are like with Alchemy." Ed held his hand closer to the one that held Mustang's collar, as if to transmute out the blade. "Fine." and he sat back down in his seat.
"Well, I could get you in there..." Mustang stated with a grin on his face. "WHAT!!! HOW??" Ed asked placing his hands on the table. "Well I told you how I was going to a meeting, right? The meeting is in there." he pointed to Argen. "Why Argen?" Ed asked, leaning back in his chair. "The Military is recruiting new members and some of the older students asked to join. I'm going to evaluate them." He placed his hands behind his head. "What happened to all the other members of the Military? Where are they?" Al asked, relaxing in his chair. "We are spread out at the moment, going to schools like this and recruiting new members."
"Huh? Why do you need more members?" Ed asked. It wasn't every day the Military went this far to get new members. "Homunculi. Their numbers are increasing by the day." Ed was stunned. "What...? How?" Mustang shook his head. "We have no idea. We still are looking into it." Ed looked back to Argen. 'Next stop, Argen Train Station.' "Well, that's our stop." Mustang said while he stood up. "Let's get ready to get off." He walked back to another cart. "They are back Al....We have to be careful.....Envy, Wrath, and Gluttony." He trailed off as he saw the station come closer. "Let’s hope we can beat them this time." Al stated. He was scared.
As the three got off the train, they saw-"What the hell!" Ed exclaimed. Guards were every where, guns drawn. "Excuse me sir, are you Roy Mustang?" a Guard came up to Mustang and saluted. "Yes, I am. Why?" he returned the salute. "We came here to escort you to Argen." the solder pointed to a jeep. "Ok. Thanks." he walked toward the jeep and Ed and Al followed. "Sir, are these two with you?" he stopped them, pointing the gun at them. "Yes, they are two new students." he kept on walking. "Al, let's go." as they got out of the radius of the soldier, "Trust no one Al, I've got a bad feeling about this 'Escort'."
The sand flew back at the five in the car. The jeep hit another bump, and an excess amount of sand hit them. "Aren't you going a bit fast?" Mustang asked the driver from the back seat. "No sir, this is a precaution. There have been Homunculi sightings in the area." he swerved to dodge a rock. Argen grew larger as they came closer. The walls were pure rock, and looked as if they could stop the Military. Ed zoned out on it until the jeep took a turn to the left. "Hey, we're going the wrong way!" Mustang yelled to the driver. The driver laughed and spun his head around, with his body still facing the wheel. "Don't worry Mr. Mustang, you'll be in no time!" he and his buddy both laughed. "Homununiculi!" Ed yelled as he transmuted the Auto-Mail arm to a blade.
The driver aimed his hand at Mustang and shot it like a spear. Al grabbed the arm and it melted like rubber. Mustang slipped on his glove and snapped his fingers. The passenger caught fire. The air started to smell like burning rubber. "Let's end this!" Ed yelled as he jumped over the seat, transmuting out his Auto-Mail blade. He slashed the passenger's seat belt and kicked him over the door with his Auto-Mail foot.
The driver aimed his right hand at Ed and the fingers turned to needles. "Just like...Lust!" as the fingers shot he turned the middle seat into a shield and the fingers went through and got stuck. "Al! Throw it!" Ed had this planned since he saw that the driver wasn't wearing his seat belt. Al reached over and tossed the shield out of the jeep with the driver still attached. As he went flying he shot his left and attached it to Ed's door. "Not today, you freaking sicko!" Ed leaned over and sliced off its fingers.
Mustang jumped into the driver's seat, "Nice work there Elrics." he swerved the car back toward the school. "DIE!!!" the man who had caught on fire was back. He was standing on the bumper with his fingers into needles and was about to shoot them when, "Good night." Al's fist hit him square in the face. He fell back off the bumper and rolled. "Nice work Al, showed him who's boss." Ed laughed and Al laughed. "Who knew that the Homunculus made it out this far?" Mustang stated. Ed looked out at the men. "Why....Are they out here?" Al asked. "Al...I have no clue." Ed replied. Somehow, he knew what ever those Homunculus were out here for, was in Argen.
As they came to the gates, "Wow, it's bigger than I thought." Ed said loudly. "Sir, state your name and reason for being here." Ed and Al jumped. "I am Roy Mustang; I am here to evaluate the students who signed up for the Military." The soldier went to a large stone booth outside the gate and started speaking with another soldier there. Ed overlooked the gate he could feel its warm safety from here. "What?" behind the warmth and safety he sensed....Fear? Pain? "What the hell?" Ed leaned forward, something was calling his name. "Brother? What's wrong?" Al shook his brother who was in a trance. "Huh? Nothing thought I heard something." He said, breaking out of the trance. "Please drive ahead sir. Your I.D has been confirmed." He saluted and Mustang returned it. The large metal gates slowly opened and Mustang eased on the gas.
On the inside of the gates. "No.Way." Ed opened his mouth in amazement. Flowers lay in neatly organized rows according to color. Trees had blue buds and bushes were trimmed to look like animals. There was a fox, horse, wolf, and a very vibrant peacock. Each animal's leave were dyed in the right areas to look like the real thing. "Roy Mustang." a voice came from the driver's side. A female teacher that stood about 5, 7 was waiting. "This way please. Leave the car here." He parked the jeep and jumped over the door. "Sir, what about those two?" she asked pointing to Ed and Al. "New students." he laughed. "Oh, ok. She whispered t the woman that was next to her. She nodded and walked over to Ed and Al. "This way, please."
They walked down a dim lit hall. Suits of old and new armor stood at attention with a permanent salute. "Mustang would love to see this. He would probably move here." Ed laughed to himself and Al scolded him, "Brother! He just got you in here!" "Al, calm down! I was kidding!" The woman leading them shushed them. "Please be quiet. Classes are in session." Ed and Al shut up. As they came to the next door, she pushed them in where everything was a blur of papers and a strong smell of ink. Before they knew it they were walking down the hall to their first class inside the walls of Argen.

Chapter 2
Ed came around a corner and grinned. This school would have to be ready for an Alchemist of his level; he just hoped they could live with his anger out-burst and such. He came to one of the large doors and read his paper, "Red 202..." He looked at the large wooden door. He knocked with his right hand, causing it to buckle at impact. He backed up in surprise; he was knocking harder than he thought. The door opened and a young teen looked back at him, "Teacher! It's a student!" She yelled over her shoulder. "Well let the student in!" The girl moved back a bit, so Ed could push the door open a bit. The smell of perfume filled his senses, and watching eyes. He scanned the room quickly, and then it hit him. Mustang was never this nice; this was too good to be true. Now, he knew why Mustang wanted him to go in, it was an All Girl's School.
Edward shifted through the class and sat down, still dumbstruck. He tried not to look at all the girls around him, but it was hard not to. He struggled through the first few classes and finally made it to lunch with Al. "This is hell! When I get my hands on Mustang's neck, he'll be begging for mercy and much more...” Edward said evilly with a grin while reading his small, black pocket book, his notes he had written over the months of being on the road. He was looking up for senses left behind Alchemy Transmutations, but found nothing. "Brother, what are you looking for?" Alphonse asked, peeking over his shoulder. Ed tried to hide the book, but Al grabbed it, and it became an object in a tug of war match. Ed took it back after a few minutes, but a picture fell out. Al picked it up, "Winry?" Ed looked down in pain and sadness, "I miss her. It’s been three months, thirteen days and this afternoon since I've seen her...It will be her birthday soon." Edward looked out of the window, tears in his eyes.
Al handed back the picture, "Sorry..." Ed took it and placed it back into the book, right where he was reading. "It's no problem...” They both sat down again. Ed could hear something coming down the hallway, towards the lunchroom. Mustang entered and saw Ed and Al and began to walk over. "Mustang....Your…Dead..." Ed grinned as he got up and transmuted his blade out. He rushed at Mustang and Mustang laughed and snapped his fingers, catching Ed's cloak on fire. Tossing it off, Ed ran faster, dragging the blade on the ground making sparks and gathering energy.
Ed brought the blade up, but Mustang made a Flame Wall, which caused an explosion, sending them both back. Ed kicked Mustang as he got up, and shoved the blade to his neck. "I should kill you Mus-" "But what would Winry think of you then? A Heartless jerk?" Edward's face went blank. Mustang kicked him back and snapped his fingers while Ed was in mid-air, causing him to catch on fire. As Ed hit the floor, he didn't even bother to get back up.
Al ran over and began to attack the flames, creating a small geyser of water with Alchemy. Mustang waited with his hands on his hips for Ed to get up. As the flames went out, they both yelled, "It's a fake!!" Ed dropped down from above, smashing his left Auto-Mail leg into Mustang's chest. "When I tackled you, I made this copy quickly; it's as simple as cake!" Ed held the blade to Mustang's left hand and cut off the glove and stole his right hand's glove. "You knew this was an All Girl's School! Didn't you?!?" Mustang laughed, not losing his cool.
"Yes, I won't deny it, but there are no worthy students of joining the Military yet. I'll be back in two months, don't go crazy and don't run away. I can't get you out until the school lets out." Mustang seemed to be disappointed that he was actually going to leave Ed and Al here. Ed backed off. "I need to think...” He walked off, re-transmuting the blade. Picking up the rags of his cloak, he walked to the doors that lead to the courtyard; he kicked them open and motioned Al to follow.
*****
"It's to dark to see brother..." Al complained. "Al, we can't just walk in there. We know it’s an all girl's school and we'll be sharing the dorm with girls...” Ed shook his head. "You'll feel like your cheating on Winry?" Al asked mischievously. Ed punched him in the face with his right fist, sending him a few feet back, "F*** off...” He grabbed the handle and tossed the door open. Three girls looked at him instantly. Each of them we completely naked, and wet, freshly out of the shower. Ed's face went blank.
Ed kept his head down as he and Al sat on the couch opposite of the three girls. Each one of them took turns yelling at Ed. He was ashamed. His eyes were scared for life; he didn't need to see those things until he was married.
"And last of all, KNOCK!" All three of the girls said in unison. Amy, Jane and Leah. He didn't really want to look up, but it was disrespectful not to. Amy had blonde hair with blue eyes. Jane has black hair with purple eyes. Leah had light blue hair and grey eyes. Each of them had anger etched in their faces. He stood up and bowed, "I'm sorry, forgive me." He fell back down and grabbed his head, "Jeeze!" Something was screaming. Pain ...Death....A chanting of, "Thanatos...Thanatos...” Then it was over. The girls all looked at him with different looks, varying of scared, confused and worried, "Are you -" Amy began, but Ed grabbed Al and the bags and said, "We're just fine, but really tired, night!" and slammed the door to their bedroom.
Ed took the top bunk, since Al agreed that if it broke with Al on it, Ed would be crushed. Ed sat on the bunk, cross-legged. His arm sat in his lap, taken out of the joint. He tightened a few bolts and oiled a few dry areas. Placing the arm back in the joint, he pressed it hard enough to re-attach, sending pain and filling his ears with a loud ringing. He gritted his teeth in pain as it began but it slowed to a stop. Ed dropped down and placed the small wrench and oil flask on the small, metal desk he made thirty minutes before. "Al, I'm heading out for a walk." "But it's curfew! You'll get in trouble!" "Al, I'm going to be fine, no one will catch me." Ed left his brother in shock. As he came to their door, he looked back and said, "Don't follow me. Your suit creaks too much. When I get back I'll oil your hinges again." Ed closed the door.

Chapter 3
Fresh air wafted into Ed's nose as he left the small dorm. The smell of perfume was driving him crazy. He walked down the empty walkways, passing each dorm room, full of girls and such. He came to a corner and stopped. Heavy ragged breathing and the patter of feet. Ed backed up and transmuted his blade. The Felhound came around the corner. Ed had found the night-time security and he could see why they were chosen. Felhounds excelled in hunting down Alchemist, and were used three years ago in the Ishbaalian war to find Ishbaal Alchemist. Ed knew they were only created by Alchemy, a darker kind though. He was ready to kill this thing, even though he knew it wouldn't be easy, as he could hear others coming.
Ed kicked the beast back first and swung the blade in front of him to keep it a distance. He waited for it to rush before he grabbed it with his right hand and smashed it into one of the pillars. As he ran around the corner, he quickly brought his blade down, slicing the head in two, diagonally. He side stepped a lunging Hound and stabbed his blade into its neck and tore it out, spilling blood. He ran quickly down the hall, dragging the blade up to one and as he let the blade leave the ground, and as it hit the hound running towards him, it exploded in a flash of bright orange, as the heap of burnt and charred remains fell to the ground. He looked to his left and could see the door he was getting all the senses out of. Running to it. He stopped and quickly kicked a hound with his left leg, shattering its skull.
Ed ran down the hall and stopped at the door, breathless. He grabbed the handle and it wouldn't budge, typical. He backed up and transmuted a hole in the door and leapt through. He then closed it back up once inside, so no more Felhounds would get him. The room was musky, the scent of old wood wafted in the air. Ed couldn't see, but that could be taken care of. He quickly transmuted a nearby desk (He found by feeling around) into a torch and then a few stones into a match. Lighting the torch, the pale light filled the room. He could see a large brass door on the left side of the room, probably supplies, but he knew he had to check.
Walking over to the brass door, he then grabbed his head, as sounds of screaming and the chanting of “Thanatos...” got louder with each time. He shook his head to get it out of his mind and he opened the door. He wasn’t too surprised as the door led to a spiral staircase, which led down. The air now mixed with the new smell, rotting flesh, something like gasoline, and the smell of fire. He leaned the torch ahead of him as he walked down the seemingly endless flight of stairs. He finally came to the bottom of the stair case. Even the pale light of his torch could not light the ly dark room. He walked forward, with his torch offering little light. He bumped into a table and cursed loudly, “F***!” He grabbed his left elbow as he hit his funny bone on the table’s corner. He dropped the heavy torch on his right foot. “Ahh!” He grabbed his foot with his left hand, which when he moved it hurt like hell. When he finally got over the pain, he picked up the torch and looked at the table with revenge gleaming in his eyes. A lamp, sat on the far left with papers with scrawled hand writing laid scattered across its length. Ed picked up the lamp by leaning forward and tipped his torch into it, catching the wick on fire. The room was filled with a bright light; thankfully, Ed could now see everything in the room. He sighed with relief, but that relief was robbed from him as he turned around to see what the light had revealed. Three surgical tables with blood-stained sheets and each sheet had a human sized lump underneath. Edward began to tremble as he slowly approached the table with the lamp held out in front of him. He made his way to the first table and lifted the corner of the sheet; a human foot greeted his gaze. He almost screamed, but something held him back. His eyes shift in and out of focus, but he regained his vision quickly. Ed dropped the sheet back on the table. Human Experimentation? He guessed yes.
The saying says, “Curiosity killed the cat.” And Ed was this cat. He moved on to the next table and decided quickly to lift the upper part of the sheet. He closed his eyes and drew it back, afraid to open it as if to see a beast’s snarling jaws, open and ready to devour who awoke him from his sleep. But nothing happened. Ed sighed with relief and looked down at the figure. A girl, from what he could tell. From the neck up she was fine, and very beautiful. Her eyes were closed, but her mouth was set into a frown of some sort, her eye brows tilted outward, as if to express some emotion of fear or danger. Just below the sheet, a few scarlet hairs poked out, Ed grabbed the rest of the sheet and tossed it aside. She was mostly a Felhound, but her head and shoulders had yet to be transformed. Ed backed away, “What the hell are they doing?” But he knew the answer. Those Felhounds were students; he had just killed a few students. He shivered and back away, but tossed the sheet back onto the girl’s lifeless body first. He went back to the table with the papers and picked one up at random, in the scrawled hand writing it read:
October 13,
Today we have made an exciting discovery! With the many tests we have completed, we have come to find that Girl’s DNA reacts better to the treatments of Felhound blood. As we know, Boy’s have a problem with the blood, and have come to mutate from the original form or even die from the organs not forming right. However, the girl’s DNA is used to changes as such, like pregnancy. With this last discovery, we have decided to use the rest of the Boys for the experiment and change to a Girl’s only school. The of the child is told to the parent’s as an accident during one of the many Alchemy test, the fools even believe it! I must go now, time to check on Subject Six hundred- Sixty One again, he’s the only male to get this far in the experiment, and he will be the leader of the Felhounds if he survives. -Alma
Ed blinked twice and read the paper twice again. He couldn’t believe it, these reason for the All Girl’s school was for experimentation! He had to get out and quickly, Alphonse had to hear this. He picked up the lamp and started to go to the stairs when he heard the large brass door open. Feet began to walk slowly down the spiral staircase, and Ed’s mind raced to find a hiding place. He turned quickly and began to search for the perfect spot. Looking towards the table which the girl was on, the sheets went below, where there was a hollow compartment. Ed placed the lamp on the table and blew it out quickly, rushing towards the stretcher and diving beneath it. His heart pumped as the feet drew closer and closer to the bottom of the stairs. Two voices pricked his ears, both cold and almost evil. “Madam, are you sure the one who killed the Felhounds is in here?” The first one asked. Her voice was cold, but there was somewhat a tinge of fear in it. “Yes, where else is she to run?” This voice was rather cruel and seemed to harness a great tinge of anger with the current predicament and a smaller tinge of annoyance towards her companion. The feet came to the bottom of the stairs and hit the stone floor. “They’re gone...” The Cruel voice said quickly, “I’ve lost track of her scent.” Ed held his breath as the feet came directly to the table he was hiding under. “This one is almost done Madam.” The cold voice remarked. Ed felt his face turning blue, and was lucky as he heard feet leaving. “Make sure you bring the bodies of the Felhounds to my office.” The Cruel one demanded. “Yes Madam, right away.”
Ed moved quickly out from under the table and tip-toed up the stairs slowly. He was right behind those two; he was right below them on the stair case. Both were silent and as the came to the top, one laughed, “Lock the door.” The door slammed and the lock went into place. Ed ran up quickly and began to tug on the door’s massive handle automatically, even though his brain was telling him it was locked. He let go of the door and back, and clapped his hands together, and smack them into the door, trying to transmute it down. The door didn’t budge. “I knew this was a bad idea….Looks like I’m taking the long way home tonight.” Ed laughed at the end as he clapped his hands together and hit the brick wall next to the door.
Ed came into the room as the moon began its way to set, meaning it was about 2:00. He yawned and took of his outer jacket and dropped it onto the desk. He began to climb the ladder when he felt a hand grab the ankle of his Auto Mail right leg, “Brother. What happened?” Alphonse sounded worried, “Ah….Nothing much, just found a lot of freaky human experiments and then got stuck behind an Alchemy proof door, and so I made my way out through a 25 foot thick brick wall. I now plan to get some sleep if you don’t mind.” Al let go, he whispered something to himself, but Ed didn’t hear. As his head hit the pillow, he was out like a light, drifting into dream land.
***** The Felhounds bodies lay in a pile in the center of the rather large Transmutation Circle, which covered most of the floor. A woman walked out onto the circle and dropped the light white robe from around her body, revealing her body to be covered in Alchemy circles. She walked to the middle of the circle and began to slowly chant a name. As she continued chanting, she got louder and louder, “Thanatos…Thanatos…THANATOS!” The Alchemy circle lit up and began to shine brightly, its power visible. A low growl echoed as the wall in front of the circle began to open. A long snout of a Felhound poked out, it gave loose to a ragged and ly loud growl, drool dropping to the floor. “èÜíáôïò, I know you are the God of , but you may also give life to those who obey your comand! Give life back to these lowly beast who have served you!” The woman raised her hands into the air and bowed slowly, backing out of the circle. The beast placed a single paw onto the circle and activated it, roaring in an unheard Demonic launguage. The bodies of the broken Felhounds began to mend back together, bone to bone, vien to vien. The Felhounds began to move again, life being brought back to their minds. As the circle vanished, the walls began to close and the large Felhound backed away into it’s dark depths.

Chapter 4
Ed yawned as the sun came over the horizon. He was tired; he woke up not to long after he fell asleep, those evil images of the lab robbing him of his sleep. He cursed as he climbed down from the top bunk and went to the desk, grabbing the flask of oil. He looked back to his brother and felt a pang of regret. It was his idea, to bring their mother back, but he didn’t like to admit it. He sighed as he walked over to his brother’s bed and shook him gently by the face plate, “Wake up.” Al jolted awake, “What? What’s happening?” Ed laughed and replied with great haste, “Nothing, but it’s time to be oiled again.” Al backed up. He d this part, being taken apart piece by piece to be lubricated. He shivered, “But why?” Al asked carefully. “Your rusting and you creek to much. Now hold still and stop your complaining.” Ed said as he poured some oil from the flask directly onto the rusted joint. Al jumped up and bolted for the door, but Ed knew he was going to do that. Ed transmuted the floor around Al to trap him, and once trapped, Ed made haste to him to take Al apart quickly. Al complained all thirty minutes of the treatment. Ed, on the other hand, told hi to shut up every other second. Once back together and well oiled, they both headed outside.
In the courtyard, Ed stood across the way from Al. Both immediately went into fighting stances. Al and Ed always had Mock Combat fights once they both were fixed up. It improved their skill in hand to hand combat which had proved needed in many of their past adventures. Al rushed Ed and began to kick while one foot was planted into the ground for balance. Ed blocked his kicks with his right arm and grabbed the leg with lightning fast reflexes. He twisted Al’s leg and pulled him closer; driving his right hand into Al’s back, sending Al sprawling across the small combat area. Ed rushed Al, transmuting his blade out, and began to slice at Al, who blocked the blows, but took a few cuts and added new nicks to his armor. Al ducked below one of the blows and punched Ed in the gut, lifting him up a few feet. He then was level with his brother and head butted him back. Unaware to the two fighting brothers, quite a crowd had gathered around the courtyard and was watching these two duke it out for reasons unknown to them. Ed retaliated back landing quickly and shoving his left leg through Al’s chest plate. Ed withdrew the leg and placed it into the ground, pivoting on the ball of his right foot, he landed another kick into Al’s face plate. The face plate flew back off the body of armor and clanked to the ground. Ed had won again, adding the score it was: Ed-162 Al-157. Ed placed his hands on his hips and laughed. “Nice duel Al, you’ve gotten a little more unpredictable since last time.” Ed ran over and grabbed Al’s head off the floor, and placed it back on the armor. He then proceeded to transmute Al’s chest back to normal, not even showing a scratch, other then that one’s that were there before. Ed and Al bowed to each other and then noticed the crowd and a teacher with her hand’s placed firmly on her hips, glaring.
“We weren’t harming anyone!” Ed yelled at the Head Master, who sat behind her desk with a dull stare on her face. “We do this almost every morning! We need to stay strong and this is the only way!” Ed slammed his right hand on the desk and broke off a chunk of it. He didn’t seem to notice or even care since he crossed his arms across his chest and looked off to the left, his face twisted in anger. Al had his hands clasped together and twiddling his thumbs without even known, it was a habit for him to do that with out even knowing at times. “But even though no one was hurt, there always was the chance of one of you two missing a punch or kick and hitting one of my perfect girls, and even injuring them.” Ed laughed and quietly said, “Yea, don’t want any of your Experiments to be hurt now do ya?” The Head Master’s face twisted. She stood up and declared, “Alphonse Elric, you are dismissed to return to class. Edward Elric, I would like to have a word with you alone.” Alphonse stood up and bowed to the Head Master before leaving the room. Ed got out of his chair and began to pace the room, not letting his eyes leave the Head Master, “So you thought that no one would find your little hell on Earth, did you?” Ed yelled, lifting his left foot, stomping it into the ground, facing the Head Master. “How long did you think it would take for someone to find your little horror show? Huh?” The Head Master laughed loudly and coolly. She wasn’t scared at all and see didn’t seem like se was going to answer his questions. “Elric, it would be wise to keep your mouth shut about this whole incident. It would be wise for you to never go back, or you will face punishment to the extreme. Understood?” “What do you mean punishment to the extreme?” Ed responded quickly without thinking. “Elric, you are dismissed to class.” Ed wasn’t sure what had happened, but she had won the battle. Admitting defeat, Ed didn’t bow, but left the room, slamming the door as hard as he could.
Ed sat alone at lunch, Al was held back to fix an explosion he had caused by mixing too much sulfur together at once. Ed had the small book open, reading his notes over and over. He still wasn’t sure how he was picking up those emotions, but he was sure they were left by Alchemy. But he didn’t even understand how those girls were being implanted with the Felhound blood. He closed the book and sighed, he didn’t want to eat the school food, but he might as well. He finally got his food and sat down, it looked alright, but did it taste that way. He lifted the sandwich to his mouth but stopped as he opened his mouth. He just had breathed in a scent of something he had smelled before. He placed the sandwich down and opened the bread apart. Red Water was splashed inside. The Head Master was trying to kill him, great. Red Water, which, while toxic to humans, can be refined into a Red Stone. Though far less powerful than a complete stone, a Red Stone can act as a powerful amplifier for an alchemist's abilities. Ed was about to be poisoned, but he didn’t care, where did they get the Red Water from?
Ed sat on the small bench outside of his dorm, completely overcast. Al swore he could see a storm cloud over Ed’s head, but he stayed inside, he knew his brother was in a bad mood when he could see clouds over his head. The three girls also looked out of the window with Al, Amy sighed and went for the door. The other two tried to stop her, but they couldn’t stop her.
Amy sat next to Ed, and adjusted her skit a bit. “Ed, what’s up?” She asked kindly. “Get the hell away from me.” Ed demanded, coldly. Amy didn’t phase. “What’s up with you? You’re really quiet.” “I’m fine, now get the hell away!” Ed yelled, standing up. Amy got angry, “Alright freak! I’m getting sick of you already! Why the hell are you here anyway?” She yelled back, stunning Ed. “I…I don’t know!” Ed yelled back. “I’m here since that bastard Mustang left me here to die in this hell hole!” He roared with anger. “You’re just like the last freaks that were here! Weird and obsessed with nothing but their own!” Amy yelled red in the face. Ed stopped, “What other freaks?” He asked calmly. “They wore the same uniform as that Mustang guy who brought you here.” She replied, Calming down. Ed’s mind began to piece the puzzle together. Those men she was talking about wee the same men who attacked Ed, Al and Mustang. Ed remembered that The Homunculi had a large store of Red Water. The red Water was brought here and turned into Red Stones, where was further used to fuse Felhound blood into the girls. It all made sense now. Ed hugged Amy, “THANK YOU, THANK YOU, and THANK YOU!!!!” then bowed and ran off to the Head Master’s room. Amy was stunned, she couldn’t move for she felt weak in her knees. She fainted and the other two came out to fetch her, Al, ran after Ed.

Chapter 5
Ed kicked down the Head Master’s door with his left leg. “Hey witch, I’ve got this whole scheme all down.” Ed laughed as he calmly strode into the room; the woman’s face was confused, “Figured what out?” She asked, playing dumb. “I know how you’re fusing the blood, I know how you got the Red Water for the stones, and I know, I’m going to kick your ass!” The woman stood from behind her desk, “How do you know this?” She demanded. “It’s obvious. Red Stones sometimes leaves a fake sense, mostly the last feeling that the person felt before it killed him/her.” Ed laughed with triumph apparent in his voice. “You got the Red Water from those Homunculi.” Ed crossed his arms across his chest. “I win and you lose.” The Head Master could tell he had won, but she would never let him know that. “So, you want to play hard ball?” She laughed. The door went back to its hinges and fixed itself and locked. Ed could hear a rumbling as the wall behind him began to open slowly. The smell he had smelled in the lab could be smelled here too, but it was stronger, a lot stronger. Ed heard a beastly growl as the wall finished opening and he for the first time since arriving, felt scared.
Al ran down the hall way, his feet pounding and echoing. As he rounded a corner he stopped. Outside the door of the Head Master, a vast amount of Felhounds had gathered. Al gasped, there creatures shouldn’t exist. All of them slowly set their gazes on him and began to advance. Al went directly into a fighting stance and tried to remember some of his brother’s encouraging words, but nothing came to him, since his mind was screaming in fear.
This Felhound was giant. It took up a lot of the room as it walked out, paw after paw. Growling it looked down at Ed through a shaggy mane. Ed backed up, “Edward Elric, meet 661, but we call him Thanatos!” Edward laughed to himself, “I’ve taken down things much bigger than this! This will be simple!” Ed clapped his hands together and placed them on the ground. He started to draw up the Dragon Spear he made often. He really was bluffing, good thing it worked, or so he thought. He grabbed the spear by the pole and held the sharpened end towards the beast. “Let’s rock.” Ed ran at Thanatos and slid on the smooth tile floor beneath the beast and shoved the spear up. It tore through the beast’s chest and stomach, ripping out sounds of pain and agony from the beast.
Al back handed a Felhound away as he round house kicked one back into the crowd, smashing its ribs with his left foot. He grabbed one trying to bite his arm and slammed it into the wall. Their numbers seemed endless. He would kill one, just to have two more take its place. Al dodged as one lunged for him and brought his hand quickly though the beast’s skull. He now wished he could do Alchemy with out a Transmutation circle like his brother. An idea popped into his head. He quickly went into his leg pouch and drew out his chalk he used for Alchemy. He began to draw the Transmutation circle on his arm.
Ed dodged two large swipes from the Felhound and stabbed at the beast’s paw when he had the chance. He back flipped, using the pole for extra leverage and stabbed the spear end into the beast’s eye. Howling in pain, the beast backed up into his dark prison. Ed threw the spear with all his might into the darkness and heard a howl of pain. He turned to face the Head Mistress, who had been shouting lewd remarks and cheering on Thanatos, “Now what are you going to do? You subject has failed, your locked in here with me. I’ve won again witch.” Ed crossed his arms over his chest in victory. Without either of them knowing, Thanatos quickly leapt out of the darkness and swatted Ed out of his way. Ed went into the wall, leaving and pieces crumbling. Thanatos roared in anger while the Head Mistress cheered him on, “Yes! Kill the boy!” But Thanatos had different plans. He turned his head quickly to the Head Mistress and growled. Her eyes grew narrow, “Well, kill him now!! Do or it I’ll-” Thanatos quickly grabbed her with his teeth and began to rip her apart. She screamed and yelled in pain, which was only silenced when he swallowed. Ed’s face twisted in disgust. Thanatos drew back a paw and knocked down the wall ahead, leading out into the desert. He ran out the gap and roared even louder.
Al’s arms were both blades, each cutting open wounds upon the Felhounds. The Felhound’s ears pricked, as Al heard a loud roar nearby. The Hound’s turned tail and ran, following the constant roar. Ed kicked down the door, “S***! They’re getting away!” Ed began to run after them, but they were too fast for him. After a few hundred yards, all he could see of them was their trail of dust in the sky and the very back of Thanatos.
*Two weeks later*
Ed and Al both sat on one of the destroyed walls, done by Thanatos as he ran. Ed picked up a piece every now and then and would toss it down to the sands below. A small pile of rocks began to gather. Ed then saw it on the horizon, a trail of dust as a jeep came into view. Ed leapt down the 12 foot drop and rolled twice, but got to his feet and ran to the jeep. The jeep drove up, “Edward, what the hell happened here?” Mustang asked as he leapt out of the car. Edward replied through quick breaths, “It’s along story; you’ll see it in my report.” By now Al had caught up with them and leapt into the back of the car, “I’m just taking this for awhile, I’ll bring it back!” Ed yelled as he quickly got into the drivers seat and hit the gas. “Take care!” Al yelled as he waved to Mustang who stood on the spot unmoving and still stunned by their actions.
Ed laughed as Mustang shrunk into the distance, for the first time, he had defied Mustang, but it was for a cause. Both Ed and Al knew that Thanatos had to be stopped before he spread his destruction and chaos to far. Ed looked into the rear view mirror and could see three figures standing on one of the walls. Amy, Jane, and Leah all were waving them good-bye as they left on their adventure. Ed and Al both waved back. It hit Ed then, “F***!! I didn’t learn anything about that damn Philosopher’s Stone!!” He put his chin on the wheel, looking defeated. “Don’t worry brother, at least you made friends, right? And you didn’t even cheat on Winry!” Ed’s face instantly filled with fury, “You’ve asked for it.” Ed punched Al in the face, sending him out of the back and rolling in the sand. He got back up and chased his brother into the distance, yelling for mercy.
***** “The Fullmetal Alchemist. Edward Elric. His brother, Alphonse Elric…Target’s acquired and preparing to attack.” A figure in a white cloak and hood muttered to himself, as he watched the two drive off. A swirl of sand and wind rushes by, and the figure was gone.
